Welcome our new arrival!
August 22, 2012 – Today we were contacted by the Georgia Equine Rescue League (GERL) to see if we would be willing to take in another Foster Horse. Of course we said yes.
Beau is a twenty year old Tennessee Walking Horse gelding. By all reports he is a sweet soul capable of doing light riding. He’s been fostered by a very nice family for the past 6 months but now needs to be placed in a new foster home. We are excited to bring him to Horse Creek Stable.

We picked up Beau today and brought him home. What a sweet horse he is. We will spend lots of time with him in the next few days to see how we will integrate him with the “herd” and how to best care for him. Thank you Tessie for all you did for him.
We were told that Beau does not like being out of eyesight of other horses. We found that out last night when our other three walked away from the barn area into the big pasture. Beau protested by repeatedly calling out. We got up and repositioned everybody so that they were close but not physically together. Today we will try to integrate them all and see how it works.

Horses are amazing. We released Beau to join the group. After roughly 10 minutes of Beau chasing little Razor around Atlas stepped in to protect his little buddy. They all quickly worked out the hierarchy of the herd. Now they are all getting along great. Looks like this will work out perfectly.
August 25, 2012:
We put Beau through some ground exercises today. He did so well that we decided to put him under saddle in the round pen. He did well enough in the pen that we felt comfortable taking him out for a short ride. He has such a smooth gait.
But as we were informed, he needs to be with another horse while out on excursions. He does not like being separated from the other horses.
